Thank you! I like seeing pics of people’s kids, accomplishments, awesome dinners. I’m secure in my mediocre life and am able to feel happiness at my friends and acquaintances wins and lives.

I am a ghost so anything I do with my kids didn't really happen. But I keep up the Instagram posts and no one knows I'm dead.

Some of us have large familes. Much easier to post on Facebook. My family and friends do enjoy seeing pictures of my kids. We had a holiday a few days ago ( Eid) and my family was asking why I didn't post pictures of the kids. People like you sound miserable.

Well, hopefully “the world” isn’t on your Facebook friend list. I enjoy seeing photos of my friends’ kids, dogs, travels, and accomplishments. If they post something that doesn’t interest me, I just keep scrolling.
Social media use is entirely optional. If you don’t care about someone’s life, don’t be friends with them on FB. Or unfollow them at least. It’s not hard.

There have actually been studies about this. The "likes" people get for putting up a photo give the user a dopamine hit. So then they're more inclined to post again. It's a self reinforcing cycle.

So what? You'd rather we post pictures of puking kids, dog poop, work stations, us tired on the couch at the end of the day? We post the highlights. For us, for our far away family and friends. ANd for anyone else who wants to see it.

Your ability to understand that is really not my problem.

I love seeing food and cocktails pictures and videos but never post them. I cannot get enough. I follow many food IG accounts (and a lot of architecture too) but I prefer my local friends’ food pics so I know what dishes to check out in my area.
