| Microflare, very low dose of Lupron, twice daily FSH (Menopur at the highest dose), just a couple of weeks of birth control rather than a full month as other clinics had me on. Aside from protocol, I lost some weight between cycles (was overweight close to obese by the BMI last time, now in the mid-normal range), have black/green tea instead of coffee, prenatals. |
| they're nice but seriously disorganized |
why do you say this? |
I’m not the PP but if you have any experience with them at all you’ll quickly learn how disorganized they are. For my cycle I had 4 different nurses because their staffing was short and they had no continuity. They forgot to call in my meds which resulted in me having to pay cash at a local pharmacy because by the time they did call it in there wasn’t enough time to wait for insurance approval. The dr who supposedly was “my” RE was never around or available and the other two REs answered every question with “I don’t know because I haven’t read your chart.” Cycle was a massive failure. |
im so sorry. have you gone elsewhere since then? |
No. It was my last shot. |
I'm the PP who asked. I am so sorry that was your experience. That is extremely frustrating. I had Jaime as a nurse to start out with but at the first sign of trouble (she was non-responsive a few key times) I switched to Maureen who was so much better. Sounds like things have gone downhill recently (I received treatment at the beginning of this year). Were you able to get any money back? Please do leave an honest review on Google or Yelp if you can. I know that is beyond frustrating and disheartening to have gone through that. |
Thank you, PP. it’s kind of you to say that. No, they didn’t refund any of my money. They got a very high number of eggs - way more than I had ever gotten before - (I don’t have DOR, I’m a great responder to meds, so they got a really high number)but they wouldn’t even fertilize whereas I’ve always had high fertilization rates in lots of prior cycles. So, I had no embryos. Nothing to transfer. Nothing to freeze. A big zilch. So I ended up paying less than expected because there was no biopsy fee, no PGS, but it also meant my fertility journey was over. And yeah, they had a bunch of people quit mid year so it had probably gone downhill a lot since when you cycled. You know, it’s just sad. I was an earlier PP on this thread asking about whether I should switch to CCRM and also made a different thread about the Colorado versus NOVA location. I am so incredibly regretful that I didn’t go to CO. My only problem was I couldn’t seem to get a PGS normal at my first clinic. I hoped the superior lab was the answer. Big big sigh. Sorry for the novel. I’m obviously still struggling with how it turned out. |
did u do an era? |

Re: 11:04 post on 10/28
I did 2 cycles at CCRM Tysons and had almost 20 eggs the first cycle and 20+ the 2nd cycle (with about 50% fertilization) and yet none of the embryos made it to day 5 blast. My eggs did better at SGF where at least some made it to blast (but then tested abnormal). So I know how you feel. I'm struggling too with how it went so wrong when CCRM is touted as having a have a superior lab to SGF. |
I’m so sorry. I’m 11:04. I got double the eggs but my fert rate dropped from about 75% (average across 4 prior cycles) and while CCRM got me a ton of eggs my fert rate dropped to FIVE PERCENT. They insisted that this had nothing to do with overstimulation or overmature eggs. Ridiculous. |
| Thanks - sorry it happened to you too. The 2 attempts at CCRM were our “Hail Mary” attempts. We thought if CCRM can’t get us normal embryos then no one can. But I’m having difficulty giving up because it doesn’t make sense that none of almost 40 eggs (between the 2 cycles) made it to blast. I want to try Cornell but not sure if we can swing it financially. To make matters worse - I paid for the 2 IVF cycle package plan that includes costs for PGS testing and transfer, believing that surely I would have blasts to at least test since I did before at SGF. So I paid about $3800 more than I would have if I had just paid per cycle. I’ve asked for a refund of that amount and haven’t heard back yet. Are you going to try again or was CCRM your final round? It’s harder to think about quitting than I thought it would be. |
Oh wow I’m so sorry. If they don’t refund the difference that will just be disgusting. I’m pretty sure I won’t go anywhere else. That was my Hail Mary as well. We are trying to see if we can financially swing donor eggs. Last week I got another bill from them for $4800. Surprise surprise, they submitted all my claims to the wrong insurance. So I have to call them and deal with the billing people. I’m dreading it. |
I know this is older, but beware Maureen at CCRM. She didn't call me back for days when she was my nurse. I had to show up in person and ask for a new nurse. She repeatedly didn't answer voicemails and actually skipped part of the follow-up on my cycle. I had to follow up a week later. |
| Maureen is terrible just like Jaime and Bridgette. Total disaster over there. |
