Angry Mean Nasty Dementia

Anonymous
Hi OP. No advice, but just wanted to relate. My mother (59) also has extreme paranoia and is truly impossible to be around. She thinks the post office is spying on her, she thinks people in the neighborhood are starting fires to taunt her, she thinks members of our family are pedophiles, she thinks my dad is a murderer, etc etc etc. Her paranoias are the only thing she will talk about, and if you don't agree with her (including agreeing to cut off all the members of our family that are "pedophiles" etc.), then you become a target of her rage. She's done things like post on facebook about how "evil" my sister and I are. We've had to cut her off. There is no point to being around her. She has pushed everyone away. My prayer is that someday there will be a way to commit people like her, or force them onto medication.

My DH has dementia at 64. It’s heartbreaking.

Thanks. Good to know that there are others out there.

So young. I’m so sorry, PP.
