| Really OP you sound way over the top. Fwiw if you do approach the gym for "compensation" for your abject terror and your agonizing injury, try to find a more sensible way to present your case. |
| I don’t understand the responses telling PPs to ask for a few months comp. That is a slippery slope and sets a precedent. All of a sudden people will want comps for getting a scrape or for bumping their head. I don’t know why a gym would go along with giving comps like this for these reasons. Accidents happen and they’re more likely to happen at a gym. That’s why you sign a contract to say you assume the liability. |
| Op because of people like you Gym membership costs are going up. Please move on. Now if I were that lawyer, I would tell you let’s go to Court. |
| OP here. All you meanies can eff off. I went to the gym today and apparently my accident has spurred them to get the mechanic in and fix the bikes. It shouldn't take someone hurting themselves to perform routine maintenance. FTR this gym chain has been in the news recently for financial issues and towards the end of 2018 let it be known that it did not have enough money in the budget to purchase supplies like anti-bacterial wipes for the equipment until the next fiscal year. When I went to the desk on the day of the accident the manager on duty literally shrugged her shoulders. I am not looking for some big payout. I just want somebody to give a damn. And for the people who made fun of the bruise--it's not minor--it's seven inches long and purple like an eggplant--it's not like I banged my shin on a coffee table. |
Please keep posting. You're hilarious. |
take pictures and post your story. be glad you didnt break something. find a new gym. |
You weren’t in a car accident. You got a bruise because the pedal came off. If I were you, I wouldn’t go there again and I would ask for a refund of any remaining classes. Other then that, they don’t owe you anything because you just got a bruise. |
Enough to more than pay for counseling. |
That’s ridiculous. More like the gyms are pocketing profits and not maintaining equipment and people are getting injured. |
