| There had better be a delay at least. They did a pretty good job pre-treating the roads in our area (Gaithersburg), so the roads were still shiny wet when it got dark. That is going to freeze into a lovely sheet of black ice. Even if the county does a good job of salting and sanding the roads tonight, it would just be negligence on MCPS's part to not at least wait until it is light out so the buses can see the roads in the morning. |
| Feds on 3 hour delay, so I'm sure MCPS will have at least a delay too |
The teachers will be happy. Trust me. |
Not anymore. Last spring, the delegates/legislators enacted legislation that allows schools to be open beyond June 15 due to emergency closings. Also, Tuesday June 4 is marked as a potential make-up day. I see June 4 as being used before any of spring break. |

Was just about to say that. Would be odd for feds to have 3 hrs. and MCPS to only have 2 though. DOes MCPS ever do more than 2 hrs? |
No, not that I've seen and I've been working for MCPS 20 years. |
| There is zero chance they will open on time if OPM has a 3-hour delay. Start planning now. |

OPM reports the federal offices in the Washington, DC area will open under a 3-hour delayed arrival on January 30, 2019. Employees have the option for unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework. Employees should plan to arrive for work no more than 3 hours later than they would be expected to arrive.
We will be closed tomorrow. |
| FCPS closed. |
| I backed into my driveway at 7pm and slid quite a bit. I’m in northern Silver Spring. Not looking good for tomorrow. |
Lazy govt... |
| I just shoveled and it’s very slippery under the powdery snow. Our streets are sopping wet which will turn to ice. I think they’ll call a delay tonight and reevaluate in the morning. |
| Two hour delay announced |
