Diamond studs for every day wear? What size?

Did you really link an article where they mention push presents and making your diamonds edgy by getting a second piercing
? Do better.

that's the first one that comes up when doing a Google search. Everyone knows this: no diamonds during the day except engagement ring. Here's another. https://www.tastefulspace.com/blog/2017/01/11/diamonds-are-a-girls-best-friends-the-etiquette-of-how-to-wear-jewelry/

I bought the 1 cttw from Lightbox (the DeBeers brand lab grown diamonds) and no wat I would buy mined diamonds now in 1 cttw or smaller. But they’re not really selling bigger pairs yet so if I were going bigger I would reconsider mined.

+1. I swear some of you were raised by wolves. Diamond earrings are for evening.

Studs are fine for daytime. Drop earrings are for evening.

Not everyone adheres to WASP-y notions of what's appropriate. Diamond studs are perfectly acceptable daytime wear in a lot of cultures. The fact that you deem this to be savage (i.e. akin to being raised by wolves) says a lot more about you than it does about the people wearing the earrings your judging.

Oh please. this comment is about copying the royals, as recently reported: https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/celebrity-life/royals/why-meghan-and-kate-cant-wear-diamonds-in-the-daytime/news-story/c449890553a6aab2b7eedc00c466015f

And lets be real, no one on the board is talking about wearing the type of Diamonds that Kate and Megan have access to. Stud diamond earrings, ie not dangly, are fine during the daytime.

The royals didn’t “invent” the rule. It’s a long-standing requirement that well-bred ladies save diamonds (other than engagement rings) for dinner and later. You don’t have to agree, but I think it’s always helpful to learn about unspoken class indicators.

This old trope about diamonds in the daytime is repeated by people who did not grow up with money and are looking to latch on to what those with "breeding" do.

Hardly, even Miss Manners agrees.

I had 2 tcw CZ studs as a test for getting real ones and they seemed huge on me. I think I’m going to go for 1.8 tcw diamond studs.

Do you really think a different of less than half a mm in diameter will look that much less huge?

Who talks about well bred ladies here? It is usually moms, often working long hours with young kids.

Diamond studs are not appropriate for the day? Is it any better to wear cz or crystal studs?

Go ahead, be a rube. We all know the rules even if you don't.

Seriously! "Well-bred ladies"...good lord. The level of status anxiety on this thread is crazy.

I will wear whatever jewelry I like wherever I like, and if Tatler and the royals and Miss Manners think it's tacky, they can go right ahead and think it's tacky. Who gives a flying f--k?

Anxious rubes.

I got 1.75 TCW round diamond earrings for Christmas and I think they’re perfect for everyday wear. I tried on a bunch and think between 1.5-2 TCW is perfect on a normal sized ear.
