My teen ranaway

Who is the abuser?

Call her friends and see if one of them tells you where she is.

Not OP, but it is often a single man in his 20s who is exploiting the girl through prostitution or porn.

There is no abuser

Or the moms new boyfriend.

Or the mom that smashes her teen daughter in the mouth for talking back.

Oh, wait - or an MCPS ‘resources teacher’. OP - is your DD in an MCPS high school? Which one?

OP please finally post what you think your teen is unhappy about living in your home. Why did she run away?

Umm crap is not making sense. I think this is fake and if not, why not tell the whole story of what happened? You leaving out bits and pieces to have us guess is unfair. Also, detectives aren’t just sitting at home... they may have no leads or feel as though she simply ran away with no danger to her or others, so their priority is elsewhere. If you are really concerned for your child, tell us a description, post a photo, her last whereabouts, etc. post like this piss me off.

OP - If I knew why the heck she is running away, don't you think she would not be ? I would find a solution to her problem. I don't know.

It’s your job to figure these things out. This is not the first time so you had plenty of time to figure it out or to avail yourself of various common resources such as social workers (for your family), her doctor and did you get her in to see a counselor after she ran away the first time?

Yes - it’s most likely fake. Or a scheme to start a GoFundMe for the ‘poor mother’.

There were original comments on the first page asking OP to detail what she thought her daughter was struggling with (too many chores, abuse, a new BF, what?) which were all reported and deleted in favor of endless ‘blessings’ and ‘hugs’ to the OP.

A resource teacher, as in special ed or as in the department head?

Sometimes, it is more mundane than that. I’ve known kids who left home when there was no actual abuse, but they just disagreed with how the family lived. I know of two kids who left home because the parents kept having babies and they hated the chaos. Religion is one area of conflict and it isn’t always a child fleeing strict ultra-religious parents. A friend in college ran away at 13 because her parents wouldn’t keep a kosher home. A friend of my daughter’s ran away in HS because her parents forbid her to wear hijab.

Not OP, but you clearly have no clue what it is like to parent a troubled teen.
