Do you think he'll spin the narrative? My mom is a narc; I get what you're saying. But "lesser narcs" can move on and reinvent themselves. He's way too public at this point to spin the story. He may BELIEVE he can, but I think this may be his downfall if they finally have enough evidence (and balls) to nail him. so many narcs out there . . . They are all over. |
Remember this "Teflon Don"? John Joseph Gotti Jr. was an Italian-American gangster who became boss of the Gambino crime family in New York City. Gotti and his brothers grew up in poverty and turned to a life of crime at an early age. Died: June 10, 2002, United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners A fitting place for Donald Trump to die |
He’s going to resign and claim martyrdom. |
I agree. |
I've lost so much faith in this country, that I fear you are right. |
He won't be indicted while in office, so he will cling to the office, unless:
1) There is a heavy penalty at hand for his children, and he is offered a sweet pardon deal for all (both them and him) 2) Some GOP members are forced by the extremity and direness of the findings of the Mueller investigation to cooperate with the Democrats at least enough to squeak through impeachment proceedings 3) The clock runs out on his term |
I think he will finish his term and decline to seek reelection, claiming martyrdom. |
I agree |
Hi. To me, part of what makes him a narcissist is his inability to admit wrongdoing. I think he'll continue to try to spin the story. So even as the ship goes down, he'll say it isn't. It doesn't matter who believes him, as long as he believes himself. And people STILL believe him. Many of the people in the small town where I live would vote for him tomorrow. Based on his past behavior, it's clear he thinks that anyone who has evidence against him is lying, anyone criticism is "unfair" (my 10 year old is mature enough not to make that argument anymore), and it's all a set up. He's a victim. That is the narrative and he will not change it. He may try to spin himself as a martyr. Unless he's held externally accountable, he'll keep gaslighting and deflecting and lashing out at others. And it appears he won't be held externally accountable. Because no one with the ability to do so has done so. Even with hard evidence he might not be indicted until he's out of office, and that, friends, could be 2024. Let's just hope he doesn't start a war to try to make himself look like a hero. It wouldn't be the first time he created a mess, got himself out of it, and spun himself as a hero. |
No, he won't resign and he'll seek reelection, because he knows as soon as he's not President, he will be indicted.
Which brings us to the main issue here - why should there be a DOJ policy that the President cannot be charged with a crime? Surely there must be a limit to that. I'm afraid, though, that with a Trump appointee as AG, that rule will not be re-examined. |
I think they’ll revisit that policy once President Treason is shown. |
Just my guess....Mueller will indict his sketchy kids. There will be an under-the-table deal made. Trump resigns to keep his kids out of jail. Pence pardons everyone. Trump continues to scream Witch Hunt and says he is resigning to protect his family. He plays the victim. His incredibly stupid few supporters actually believe him.
Or someone kills him. I truly hope that doesn’t happen. But it wouldn’t surprise me at all. Best case scenario for everyone is a stroke. |
I don't know. I had the pleasure of watching Fox News yesterday after the Cohen and Manafort memos dropped and they were in total spin/denial mode. Remember it took audio tapes of Nixon engaging in a cover up, despite mountains of evidence, testimony and the Saturday Night Massacre, before he resigned. And even then it took Republican Senators to tell him he was doomed before he actually resigned. I just don't see that happening today. |
And isn’t Mueller the one who took down Gotti? How poetic! |
I think the Senate will come around. |
