Presumably they did not want to close on November 15, when thanks to Governor Hogan's executive order, the calendar only allows for 2 snow days.


MCPS has wiggle room (see this next year's calendar). They wanted to be martyrs with this year's cal. my .02.

What exactly is the wiggle room you speak of? Next years calendar doesn’t have an Election Day for one. If you’re gonna make statements like that, back it up with dates.

Also keep in mind that New Year’s, the Jewish High Holidays, Christmas are not always weekdays. That impacts available school days.
