Old-fashioned rolled from a natural foods store in my neighborhood. Eat every morning and buy 5 lb at a time. Sometimes add rolled barley and/or wheat. Heat water 4 min in microwave, add oatmeal, cook 4 min. A couple of pats of butter and a drizzle of honey.
I started this some years ago. Partly economy and health ($5.45 for the 5-lb sack) and partly because I like not having to decide what breakfast will be. |

Sometimes I make up a packet of the Brown Sugar and Maple flavored oats.
Otherwise, I make up instant oats the way my mother taught me when I was young: 8 tsp. of oats (or more if hungry) 2 tsp. of sugar 1tsp. of butter Add water just to the top. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir - add more water if necessary. Microwave another 30 seconds. Add milk. |
So no bean dip, no chili, no Persian soups, no guacamole if your cat got into grass... |
| Yep, about three or four times a week. Quaker old-fashioned, topped with a little maple syrup and whatever fruit we have. Sometimes I add nuts. |
| Never. It makes me so so bloated. |
