Do you eat oatmeal?

What do you soak the oats in overnight? Do you add the toppings in the morning then microwave it all together?

No, it causes me to bloat like crazy.

I put it in a lidded to-go container or half-pint mason jar. I mix in oats, milk, PB, and either brown sugar or maple syrup at the same time. If I want to add toppings that wouldn't do well in fridge overnight, like a sliced banana, I'd add that in the morning.

I usually eat it cold. That's the beauty of overnight oats, the oats absorb the liquid over the long soak and they don't need to be cooked. If I want it warmed up, 30 seconds in the microwave is enough.

I do oats, almond milk, vanilla extract and chia seeds. If I'm adding fruit or nuts, I add those in the morning and eat it cold.

If I'm eating steel cut oats, then those I heat up and add brown sugar and pecans once it's warm.

Yes, maybe 1-2x a week. Kids eat it 4 times a week (every school morning). I do a half oatmeal and quinoa blend. Then whatever fruit or nuts we have in the house.

Every morning. It's totally satisfying and filling. I add a banana or apple, chia, flax, hemp, peanut butter, maybe a little brown sugar. Love it.

Yes! Quaker old-fashioned with almond milk. I usually put a scoop of almond butter on top (delicious). I would spend some more time on toppings, but I'm usually in a rush.

Quaker oats. Probably 6 days a week.

No, it looks like cat vomit.

Anonymous wrote:Yes. Quaker instant - it comes in a tub. I bring it in a little baggie to work and then make it with the hot water from the coffee machine. A few times a week. I put a little butter and cinnamon in my baggie at home, then at work pour a little milk in. I eat a piece of fruit too, and that's my breakfast.

I wish I could have steel cut, because apparently it's healthier (I don't understand how), but I can't find an instant version where I could just add the hot water like I do now.

You can! I make a big batch of steel cut oats on the weekend. Once it has cooled, I put the oatmeal in a greased muffin pan. Put the pan in the freezer and freeze. When frozen, take out each muffin of oatmeal and place in a ziplock. Each muffin is about a serving. I take one to work and heat it up for 1 minute (it's thawed out a little by the time I get to work). Perfect.

Sorry, meant to add, that you should freeze the bag of oatmeal "muffins." Take them out as needed.
