Way to keep that positive attitude. The arc of the universe is long but it tends towards justice. |
Key questions:
1. Whether Fox and Limbaugh still have the hold over the GOP base that they do today. The Fox audience is cracking. Limbaugh, sadly, doesn't seem to be noticed by the left though he has a much larger audience. 2. Whether the GOP can successfully cook up a substance-free identity politics issue to fire up the base like they did with the "caravan" in 2016. GOP avoided losing the Senate because of the false caravan identity story. Question for Dems: what will the rightwing media try to pimp out to fire up the base in 2020, and how do you stop it? |
He needs another year to get more unqualified rightwing hack judges confirmed. Then the GOP will move to booting Trump. |
Mitch McConnell is up for election in 2020 and he’s not that popular at home. Wouldn’t it be great if the Democrats found someone good to take him on. |
BREAKING: Supreme Court denies last ditch effort of Virginia GOP to stop court from putting in pLace a remedial map to cure their racial gerrymander. #fairmaps |

The Iowa race just got a lot more interesting.
“Iowa Senator Joni Ernst's estranged husband has claimed in bombshell divorce papers she had an affair with one of her own soldiers and displayed 'bizarre behavior' after he filed for divorce, DailyMail.com can disclose. The Republican's husband Gail Ernst filed for divorce from the 48-year-old last summer and in newly unsealed court papers that were filed in October 2018, both Joni and Gail list allegations against the other as they fight over access to property, temporary alimony and attorney fees.” https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6619997/amp/Husband-Iowa-Senator-Joni-Ernst-claims-affair-soldier.html?__twitter_impression=true |
LOL at the family values party. |
Funny how the politicians who are the most intolerant of others are usually the ones with the most skeletons in their closets. |
Well it is Iowa, where Steve king got re-elected despite telling everyone under the sun that he’s a white nationalist. |
No wonder she was so quick to insist on Kavanaugh’s innocence. She’s got plenty of bad behavior of her own. |
Running for the Democratic nomination to run against McSally in Arizona: Mark Kelly, husband of Gabby Giffords, former Navy captain, former astronaut. |
I love them. This made my day. |
Sadly, I don’t think a Dem can win in Kansas and I’m on the ground here. The only possibility would be Kathleen Sebelius coming back. There have been rumblings of that, but I don’t even know if she can win. The populated areas, sure. But the rural areas are another story. After all, we have white babies to save because their evil mothers are trying to abort them right before birth.
Now the variable here is Kris Kobach. If for some reason Kobach would win the Republican Senate primary, then yes a strong Democrat could win against him. |
