Simmer down, pendeja. |
| Maeve |
Meadbh is technically Gaelic. don't do it. |
|
I'm also a Dubliner! Love both of these, I hear less Bronagh's than Maeve's (or Meadbh, etc...) around the place but both would work. As others have said it does make a difference whether you're living here or in the US but if you love the name go with it, regardless of location.
Other Irish names I love; Niamh Sadhbh Aisling Clodagh Orla/Orlaith Ciara Laoise Siofra Aoife |
| Mae is much nicer |
| They are both lovely, but I think I prefer Bronagh! |
| Go with Maeve...it's pretty, it's Irish, and Americans call spell and pronounce it. Don't make your poor kid grow up with a name they have to spell and pronounce for people all the time. |
|
I think Maeve is lovely, but I think some Americans may fumble the pronunciation.
I guarantee that Americans will mispronounce and misspell Bronagh. Also, my first impression was to confuse it with Branagh (as in Kenneth). |

+1 At least some people will have encountered the name Maeve before. Bronagh will be pronounced Brawn-ag, no one will be able to spell it, etc. |
| I used to live in Ireland so well acquainted with these names. However, the "Bronaghs" I knew while over there spelled it Brona. |
| Bronagh looks like the name for a dude or for a girl who is very strapping and manly |
|
Maeve. Pretty name likely to be pronounced and spelled correctly.
Bronagh in print makes me think Brony. |
| I love Maeve! |
+1! |
