Note to fat people at the gym

It is beyond rude to watch other people working out in the gym, regardless of their body sizes.

I'm inspired that you are still at it even though it is more difficult for you to run a mile than it is for me. I'm inspired that you want to make a positive change in your life.

That's what inspires me.

Op here. This is what I was trying to say.

OP & PP! Thank you both for these kind words. I am a fat person who have been considering joining a gym for the last couple of weeks.
It is very daunting task to walk in the door. However, your words of encourage has motivated me to do so. Thanks again.

Your use of the word fat is very off putting! I’m not overweight and found it insulting. Your inspired self was lost by your thread title.

I'm fat and it doesn't bother me at all when people use that word. It's just a description, not necessarily a judgment.

Half the posters here are judgmental about fatties, but that's on them. It's not inherent in the word.

Ive been going to the same gym for the same 5 days a week at the same time for 17 years. What you don't realize is at least 30 percent of the fatties you see at the gym are regulars. There are lots of people (like myself) who work out regularly but don't have the diet thing down. We are actually in great shape just bigger. So your "good for you for trying something new fatty" isn't really appropriate as Ive been a regular member for almost 2 decades and have tried every single class offered and can use every machine properly.

I know you mean well but, this is the reason I do not go to the gym. I do not want to be looked at or seen as any inspiration. Why not shout out to all those who exercise?

Fat people do not need your approval.
