why do some doctors have the H1N1 vaccine and others don't?

BTW - I just saw that CVS Minute Clinics seem to be offering H1N1 vaccine in several locations in Northern Virginia. See http://www.minuteclinic.com/en/USA/VA/Virginia-Suburbs/Clinics.aspx?h1n1_only=yes

You probably want to call first to confirm availability.

I saw this group and was wondering about the person who posted that they won't take kids under 3 at the Arlington clinic tomorrow (Wednesday). I have twin boys who are 27 months (so over 2). The website of http://www.arlingtonva.us/portals/topics/TopicsPandemicFlu.aspx says that they are unable to vaccinate kids 24 months and younger, but they don't say anything about under 3. Does anyone know anything about this? I'm planning to take my boys tomorrow but hope they don't get turned away.

I was also turned away at the Arlington County clinic today. My son is 28 months old. I received contradictory information - the first lady told me that they didn't have the appropriate dose of the vaccine for children under 3, and the second lady told me that they COULD vaccinate 2 year olds but only if they could take the nasal vaccine, which mine can't because he has asthma. In any case, my 28 month old was turned away.

If I were you, I'd take your child there. From what I've heard, it sounds like you will get a different answer depending on who you ask. Hopefully you will have better luck than I did.

Both answers are true. They don't have the injectable vaccine for the under 3 crowd. And they DO have the Flumist, but it can't be used for a 2 year old with asthma.
