I have first hand knowledge of the BSC program and organization albeit a few years ago. Easily the worst organization in the area. If you don't care about your daughters mental health then I guess it's a great place to be. Once we left and was able to see the 'other' side, I just couldn't believe you could part of a solid organization that didn't belittle the girls and still can win at a high level. Run from BSC...do not put your daughter through that

A ha..."the other side"...I hear it's lovely over there. Let me guess...you yanked your daughter out of club and then she played for the best club ever and now starts at Duke.

100% and I’m sure the 10+ girls who left from two age groups under the same coach in the past 6 months can attest to this as well!

100% ditto here as well. Absolutely AWFUL experience. I don’t know how this club has not been sued yet. There are rumors of a WaPost expose in the works.

RUN LIKE HELL and don’t believe the hype about team records and the like. It comes at a massive cost. Our daughter left the game she loved so much because of the demeaning environment lead by and allowed by the current directors.

LOL - outsider who thinks BSC plays great soccer and am glad they're on the schedule. I also lived in NoVA for 30 years, but I guess I'm not allowed here because I moved 10 years ago. Fun zombie thread bump though.

Well, Potomac did pick up GA-A, maybe they will get full GA at some point. At least now there is/will be a local alternative to BSC, not everyone can drive an hour away for soccer practice multiple times a week. Competition is good, if BSC starts losing more players to Potomac, maybe they will start to address the reasons for the losses - who knows

These clubs need to post their coaching slates if they want anyone to tryout. It’s ridiculous.

Yeah, apparently they don't. I will offer additionally that if a coach is coming over from another club, they might want to hold off announcing untill the spring season is over.

Relax they release them like 24-48 hrs before first tryouts on IG. Aren’t they scheduled for next week? Take a breath

A ha … the “it’s ok for grown men to berate and belittle young women” people. I wasn’t PP and, no, my daughter isn’t going to play for Duke in the future. But her happiness and self-esteem greatly improved getting away from that cesspool and zero regrets.
