All the rising '08 Coaches are women, and I would increase the yellers to 2.5 |
What do you mean by "competing letters"? |
Yes, intriguing! Did 2 teams invite the same girls? |
Interested in hearing if top talent at that age level is quitting. |
Parents vs club |
This is a tease. Please tell the story! |
id like to hear more about the 2008s.... |

Betheada is the most over-rated club in the market. |
A father formed his own independent team that would be a "team that is trained to play to win, would be a highly competitive elite team for the next five years, with a focus on competing to win and to develop the girls to participate competitvely at the high school and university level. Team decisions made by parents"; he found a coach to coach the independent team he formed.
Much of that does not align with the Bethesda development program for U10/U11 where they state very different development and program objectives, such as focus on individual development (tournament play is different). |
How many girls moved to the new team? |
That’s not much of a scandal - whatever works for folks, right! |
good riddance to all those parents who want to buy into that philosophy for their U10 girls. |
The club at that age group may have a mission statement that talks about development and positive environment but it is not close to living that mission statement. Think it was about 10-12 girls leaving to form a new team. There were only three teams in the age group. So roughly about a 1/3 maybe more of the age group left. In addition, I think there were one or two girl who left during the season and a few more who just moved on to new clubs after the season. Majority left to form a new team because the girls were done with the BSC. From what I heard many had only experience one or two coaches at BSC. When they trained with a new coach outside of the club, the girls where done with BSC. It was not the parents leading the charge but the girls telling their parents they were done with BSC. |
I find it disturbing when parents talk about “top talent” for 9/10-year olds. That is psychotic. I have a 2008 boy and know that at this age talk of “top talent” is stupid. Wait until the mid-teen years. |
