What is with all the black headliners in cars these days?

I just bought a car with black headlining and had to specify panoramic sunroof to lighten up the interior itherwise it was was just too dark in there. Manufacturers seem to prefer to provide black headlining/headliner on sporty models only. Less sport models all get light colour headliner. With all the options on cars nowadays, I think the colour of the headlining should also be an option. If you do not have kids and want a more focused driving then go with black. However, manufacturers should offer light colour headlining as an option to those with kids and to those who like to spend time in a more airy cabin. Imagine if all the airplane interiors, buses, trams or even houses had black walls and ceilings. My observation is that most people still prefer light colured headlining that is why dark coloured ones are only standard on sport models.
