She might act too haughty for someone in that position, I know some of the past people who held that position, and they seemed to live a more modest and humble lifestyle. But consider that she was raised differently. Which is fine, but D.C. people tend to resent that type. I only know what I read in the article OP attached.

I read that, also. Consider that she is not from here. Not only that, she is from L.A. Her life was different before now, that's all. She might not be as bad as some of the Washington people portray, and there may be incentive for them to hate on her because she is different.

She has considerable access and influence with lawmakers here and abroad. She IS powerful. She is not a threat to AMERICAN values because she is too Republican/not Republican enough (I lost track of your thread there) but because having her in that position shows the President’s willingness to defy norms against nepotism and his disregard for her unethical business practices. While he shares them, at least he was duly elected.

My defense of her? I pretty much "nothing" Ivanka T. She's the President's daughter who is basically given a cushy job near the top to gain experience, just like she did at Daddy T's company straight out of school. She's certainly paying out of her nose for the privilege, in the level of abuse she gets in DC from rabid Liberals. They are trying HARD to take down both her dad and her husband. It's not a fun and cushy time.

I'm not even a R - I lean conservative at times, at most. I just think it's hilarious how jealous and threatened by her DC liberal females are. It's transparently obvious.

Predictable that she hangs out with Amy Baier - that they are friends. I know Amy and her social crowd. Seem like the group Linton would want to be friends. Total NWDC crowd - live in Wesley Heights/Foxhall/Kent/Spring Valley area and are rather vapid, overly made up, a bit skeletal and have their kids in specific privates. Some have older husbands but most don't. These youngish women tend to think they are trendy and cool and maybe they are compared to old Dc (cavedwellers and all) but they arent really that interesting or smart.

I despise her but she’s not nearly as problematic as her husband. While I deeply regret the damage she is doing to our image at home and abroad, at least she is not blithely dismantling the geopolitical system. The point I have been making the whole time is that Louise Linton and Ivanka Trump should not be in the same category because objections to Ivanka are substantive and important. Louise Linton isn’t hurting anybody.
