She is a Senior  White House Advisor who sits in for the President at global summits and makes “royal tours” abroad purporting to represent us. She has considerable access and influence with lawmakers here and abroad. She IS powerful. She is not a threat to AMERICAN values because she is too Republican/not Republican enough (I lost track of your thread there) but because having her in that position shows the President’s willingness to defy norms against nepotism and his disregard for her unethical business practices. While he shares them, at least he was duly elected.

:lol: My defense of her?  I pretty much "nothing" Ivanka T.  She's the President's daughter who is basically given a cushy job near the top to gain experience, just like she did at Daddy T's company straight out of school.  She's certainly paying out of her nose for the privilege, in the level of abuse she gets in DC from rabid Liberals.  They are trying HARD to take down both her dad and her husband.  It's not a fun and cushy time.

I despise her but she’s not nearly as problematic as her husband. While I deeply regret the damage she is doing to our image at home and abroad, at least she is not blithely dismantling the geopolitical system. The point I have been making the whole time is that Louise Linton and Ivanka Trump should not be in the same category because objections to Ivanka are substantive and important. Louise Linton isn’t hurting anybody. [/quote]
