Who was the best team your travel soccer team played against

My boys are 01. Bethesda South when Coach Cuadros was running the show, A3 United from Annapolis and Wolfpack from St. Mary’s are some incredible teams. Their soccer is pleasing to the eye and it was an eye-opener for my guys.

Some suggestions for folks who are serious about this thread. This is about helping kids see good soccer and get excited about the game - nothing else. No club or league loyalty. These are teams I have seen play locally in tournaments or showcases or in league play. I am suggesting the younger ages for younger kids to watch. When I give a club name, assume its the top team / color for that age. I am sure there are others I have not seen so apologies on that. Hope this helps parents find some good games for kids to watch. These are not listed in order of who I think is best. Just good teams.

2008 (U10) Boys - Alexandria, Bethesda, and Arlington
2007 (U11) Boys - Pipeline Black and DC United
2006 (U12) Boys - Bethesda, Pipeline and Potomac
2005 (U13) Boys - DC United DA, SOCA (Charlottesville), Annandale, and Arlington DA
2004 (U14) Boys - Loudoun DA, Bethesda DA, Arlington DA
2003 (U15) Boys - DC United DA, Bethesda DA, Baltimore Celtic, and BRYC ECNL

2008 (U10) Girls - Loudoun, Bethesda and Arlington
2007 (U11) Girls - MD United, McLean and Loudoun
2006 (U12) Girls - Arlington, Loudoun, MD Rush, Pipeline and BYRC
2005 (U13) Girls - Loudoun, Pipeline, Bethesda ECNL, McLean ECNL
2004 (U14) Girls - Arlington, FCV DA, McLean ECNL, VDA DA (moving to ECNL)
2003 (U15) Girls - BRYC ECNL, FCV DA, McLean ECNL, MD United ECNL

Please dont bash this list. There are plenty of opinions out there, and all are good. What I do know is if you go watch the teams above, you will see strong technical play, athletic kids, various types of styles, good coaching etc. Remember, every team has a style and not all players work well in all systems.

Disagree with Annandale, and Arlington DA of 05. Agree with DC United 05.

You seem really knowledgeable about the local scene. Are you that referee who had the helpful AMA a while back?

Not me. But, as you suggest, I have been on or around the field across NOVA for the past 8 years. Year round. Futsal too.

Those are hard. Many teams are either the same team from field playing in winter or super teams formed of various teams. But at the younger boys age I was impressed with Barca.

^^^ you must have 12 kids, 6 boys and 6 girls in each age group from 2008-2003 and attend all games

I'm sure many of these post stating my kid played X club and they were wonderful...Yeah I'm sure your referencing your own club. Why does this matter? Find a local club with a good coach at the younger ages.

Thanks for this list - some good information which is rarely seen around here. Please post more often. I have seen a few of the teams listed above and agree with your assessment.

Then why the hell are you on here? To give everyone your mystical wisdom? Your club probably got smashed by one of these teams so you come on here to talk smack.
