A reporter tweeted that LAMB said they'd be up today -- either LAMB told that to him directly, or they announced it to those at the lottery. https://twitter.com/maustermuhle/status/974278495470784512 |
| Don't know, my neighbor called and was told tomorrow. Seems possible that it's a manual process and if they are posting the entire waitlist, that's a lot of names. |
| Also, I just called and LAMB indicated that they aren't sure if Kingsbury will be opening in the fall because it is expected that the construction that needs to be done will probably not be done for the opening of the school year. Therefore the South Dakota location will probably still be open. |
Yes I also called, they said tomorrow. |
Ugh |
|
So, will their website also give us the ability to see waitlist movement real time?
|
No, in the past, they only update every few weeks. We were number 8 when we got a call that we were accepted, and I had been checking religiously. |
No. Last year, after they notified families, they crossed of the names at the top who has been offered spots, but then didn't update it again for months. |
But wow to even get lucky enough to get 8 as your number....that's excellent. How far down the list does it move usually? Into the 20s and 30s? |
Also the assistant principals confirmed this to parents at South Dakota. I would not bank on Kingsbury. Just saying. |
I think PK3 got into the 70s last year. PK4 and K were between 2 and 10 I think. (By August, so it took awhile.) |
| Pk4 went, I believe, to 10 last year. We were 20 and carried false hope for a while escpeciallly as we watched the Pk3 list progress into 70s or 80s. K barely moved - maybe 2? |
I understand k was all siblings. Maybe I'm wrong. |
| Martin Austermuhle didn't get a spot, but he wrote about the experience: https://wamu.org/story/18/03/15/school-lottery-d-c-parents-leave-childrens-futures-hand-fate/ |
