The media is also at the school.
It is important to inform the public. But also a fine line between informing and giving this individual too much attention. I hope all Fcps schools have heightened security today.... sadly a reminder that we need to be hyper vigilant at all times. It is particularly sad that children need to be worried about this. Please don’t take this politically —- but when it comes to our children’s safety —- I hope we are all part of the same village and watching out for each other - the child we know and don’t know. |
I'm pretty sure that all of the schools are on heightened alert. Not just Fairfax HS. Although there may not be such an obvious presence of SWAT team/media at the other schools. |
Not really. I'm at South County and we only have one officer here as usual. It's just another regular day. |
When you say media, do you mean like ABC7 and Fox5? |
My school is the same today as well. One SRO. |
| I can’t believe we are dealing with this while the devil, Wayne LaPierre, is on CNN as we speak. I hate that they are giving him a platform for his vile and inhuman perversions, whole our kids are terrified at their school |
| I am pretty sure it is fairly easy to find the "predator". That person is in huge trouble. |
Very true. |
By all means, make your child an example for why gun control is needed! And if it doesn't happen, you've toughened him/her up

Interestingly, he pointed out that years ago, he and Chuck Schumer shook hands and agreed on getting states to provide their criminal arrest records to the national database yet he and other politicians never did a thing about it. Scores of murders could have been prevented by that one act; those shooters would never have passed the background check. A huge number of those records don't get entered into the database. That's disgusting. |
| don't worry. the president wants to arm teachers, so everything will be just fine. if the teachers shoot an innocent kid, oh well, at least you'll get to keep your own guns and keep the NRA happy and contributing $$ to the GOP. |
He also sent out information basically telling students it's ok to protest. He failed to provide any further guidance on how that might be responsibly done, IMO. Maybe the student is pointing out that he acted in accordance with was McElveen sent out? Maybe pointing that out to get the suspension revoke would have been a better idea than threatening others and possibly ending up in jail rather than just suspended? SMH. |
You have every right to HATE Ryan but this has nothing to do with him. DONT BLAME RYAN |
You really should not be blaming this on Ryan |
I'm not blaming him. Someone pointed out he was mentioned in the tweet, and that is my guess as to why he was specifically mentioned. I also editorialized about the lack of any boundaries in what he sent out because I know students from DC's school were viewing it very broadly. Also, I don't hate him. I'm disappointed that the guidance he put out wasn't more complete as far as consequence and boundaries. Kids see what SB members put out. |
