Keep strong and don’t allow Satan to destroy your faith. Don’t let his evil turn you from God. Don’t become too weary, don’t give up. Jesus has paid the price, now we must carry on. Keep your eyes on the Lord. We must be obedient to God. As Jesus was. Jesus prayed for God to not make him drink from the cup- but said if he must drink of it, he would. The gospels contain an account of the time the disciples and Jesus spent in the Garden of Gethsemane, just before Jesus was arrested. In the garden Jesus prayed to his Father three times, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will”—the KJV says, “Let this cup pass from me” (Matthew 26:39). A little later, Jesus prays, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done” (Matthew 26:42). These prayers reveal Jesus’ mindset just before the crucifixion and His total submission to the will of God. We must be obedient to God. We must drink of the cup. Although Satan does attack us, we must also submit to the will of God. Goodnight Sister. |
I agree with all the points and especially with those I bolded. I do not challenge God's decisions over our lives. I used to. Then I realized it's arrogance that comes thinking I can understand God or His motives. He does nota ask me to understand Him. He asks me to obey Him. His Will be done. |

Satan’s goals ? He scored 363 NHL career goals, not bad at all.

That's not even funny. It's stupid. Does Satan tempt you to treat this topic with contempt? |
Does the nature of my game trouble you? |
NP. Actually, it was funny. Did you give up your sense of humor for Lent? |
I’m Christian and I thought it was funny too. Some of you guys seem really... weird. |
Amen |

One more Biblical name for Satan is the prince of the power of the air.
"Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience." Ephesians 2:2 |
Why do you assume these punishments are from Satan? Maybe god is punishing you. |
She never said that Satan was punishing her. She said Satan was attacking her and her family to separate her from God by casting doubt in God's redeeming and healing power. Satan works through clever attacks. |

My daughter has a very rare disease. It is a devastating diagnosis and she is only 5.
I was very devastated by this, but I never really thought about the devil being involved. The world is a broken place and our bodies and circumstances will inevitably fail us at some point. I don’t really see any utility in thinking of the devil vs. anything else. It doesn’t really change the situation, which is bad no matter what, or how I should react to it. |
I am very sorry that you are dealing with this. Devil is real, however. I agree that you shouldn't think of him if it represents an additional burden to you in such difficult circumstances. I will keep your daughter in my prayer tonight. |
My religion does not teach that God “punishes” people by hurting or killing them. Does yours? |
I am sorry your beautiful child is ill. I hope and pray she can become well. Where illness comes from is a mystery; there are genetic causes, disease, etc, but it’s never easy and yes, perhaps fixation with cause is detrimental when one is struggling with day to day living. But again, prayers for your child and family. |
