The goals of Satan

I chatted with Satan once at a Led Zeppelin concert. He was pretty chill - smoking a doober and grooving to the drum solo in "Moby Dick."

I was going to speak out against Satan but I have a nondisclosure agreement.

I absolutely hate the complacent attitude of some Christians that "the world is broken and we can't fix it so why try."

They then give themselves carte blanche to vote for whatever rancid character will lower their taxes, without an iota of concern for the larger society around them.

This goes against the ethos of the New Testament, which is to live and act through your values.

No one is saying that we should be complacent. One should work on betterment of one's life and community. But I don't aspire to do it in grandiose way. I aspire to do it in small ways: help my neighbor, help my coworker, help someone of a different political affiliation.
I certainly don't want to wake up every day thinking about politics first thing in the morning, obsessing over politicians, etc. I'd rather have Christ as a first thought on my mind and than all my actions are predicated by that thought.

The prince of this world will reign for many, many more years but we know that he has already lost. He was already defeated by Christ's redeeming power on the cross. However, the end times need to play out according to the prophecy. And it will only get worse until most of the people accept the sign of the beast.

Satan is often called a deceiver in the Bible. He deceives because he appeals to the flesh, to those things that are soulish - physical pleasures and ego pleasures. But the Bible gives us tools to combat those temptations:

"Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world." 1 Peter 5:8-9

Fast and prayer are great weapons against Satan.

Satan is also called an accuser.
What ever God's laws you break be sure Satan will stand there to accuse you in front of God.
Satan draws his authority on your transgressions against God. The more you transgress the more you belong to Satan.

"Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him." Zechariah 3:1

Agreed. I feel hopeless reading comments here that somehow Man is gonna get it together and feed all the poor and hungry, heal all the sick, save earth from destruction, etc.

It’s not going down like that. Although God wins in the end, humankind is not ever going to be able to do as God does/will.

Not knowing or acknowledging Satan is in the world, evilly doing these things, leading humans astray, and coming between God and His creations, is dangerous and will cause many people to be separated from a loving God forever.

Politicians won’t save us, money won’t save us, a loving family won’t save us, GOD SAVES US.

Through the sacrifice of His Son the Lord Jesus Christ will we be saved.

Satan wants to keep us from achieving that. That’s his greatest pleasure. You think your soul is a trifle to Satan? It’s his meat, his love, his absolute joy to keep you from God.
