Maybe she didn’t. Not everyone comes forward. |
Was not trying to be “dishonest” geez. The PP asked why some of the women did not speak up. |
Her coach was one of the main enablers (and an abusive jerk himself). I'm sure she's been through a lot. |

They absolutely should move camp from the ranch. They actually should have moved it once they realized Aly, Gabby, Simone, Maggie and god knows who else were being forced to return there every single month while training for Rio. It is dispicable that USAG made so much money off these girls/women while they created a hostile training environment that allowed Nassar to thrive and then actively tried to cover up their abuse.
If I had a daughter who was invited there right now I would have a hard time saying yes. On the other hand, none of the current girls should have to miss out because of this monster. |
I think she works for the UCLA team with Miss Val and a lot of the ex-Olympians (Kyla Ross, Madison Kocian). Maybe she was abused and just wants to move on from it. We have to hope people who have been abused will come forward. We can't demand that they do. Everyone has to do what feels right for them. |
That's exactly what the rapists and their enablers want... for the victims to keep quiet for whatever reason. They don't care about the reasons. |
| Even non-abusive gymnastics coaches are horrible. At our studio in CA, I watch the competitive coaches and they are verbally abusive, demanding, push the girls until they cry, the boys are red faced and crying too. It's awful. The coaches are cold, unsmiling. It's heartbreaking to see all these talented hopeful kids get their self esteem beaten daily. |
We've experienced this in the dance world, too. (not trying to make sweeping statements - we obviously know MANY wonderful dance teachers) I'm not all for treating our kids like kings and queens or snowflakes or whatever it may be, but there will always be a happy medium between coddling and verbal (or otherwise) abuse. |
Exactly. Parents have GOT to band together and STOP allowing this abuse of their children. |
Agree-thank to whoever posted this. |
At this point, you have to wonder who WASN’T abused. That ESPN article was sickening. |
My thought exactly. Like Hollywood. Who wasn't abused? |
...You were either A) Abuser B) Victim C) Enabler |

I do not understand how so many men don't have a conscience. In politics, in entertainment, in religion, and in sports.
They groom, and they abuse again and again and again with zero regard for anyone else, except their "kicks." How do so many men have no sense of wrong? Guilt? Shame? |
If you raise your boy to believe he deserves almost anything he wants, what do you expect? |
