Depends on the school. Watkins loses kids around 2nd/3rd. Brent keeps kids through 4th/5th. People leave Miner after Pk4. |
Depends on the school but also on the other options. Many people are satisfied with their elementary but move when they get an offer for a school with a good middle school feeder. Proximity to a lot of good-enough charters or desirable neighborhood schools can affect it-- schools in Ward 5 really struggle with this. Sometimes people leave because they want to buy a home but can't afford to do so without moving farther out. It's unfortunate, because a lot of these schools really could thrive if DCPS would get its middle school act together. |
What about Payne, Peabody, Miner, LT and Tyler? |
| Tyler loses kids after PreK |
| A lot of those schools lose kids after PK3 or PK4 because the kids go to their in-boundary school after that (whether it's Brent and Maury or whether the family moves to upper NW or the suburbs), and that was always the plan. |
Pretty much everyone bails on Peabody after K.

Haha you need to explain this. Peabody only goes through K.
