States you love. States you didn’t love.

Not a fan of Western PA, WV, southern VA, most of North Carolina, most of Florida. The exceptions to those states are Charlotte and St. Augustine, respectively.

Have you been to Asheville?

I've visited all 50 states and I have lived in every region of the US - 14 different states (plus three overseas country). I have found something to love about everywhere we have lived. Except Maryland. Living in MOCO turned me off the entire state. Only place we have ever hated.

I am not a fan of New Jersey at all.

I’ve lived in both. Wisconsin is 100x better than New Jersey

I have to agree, although I haven’t lived in as many places as you. I have lived across the country, though. MoCo policies are truly stupid and terrible and wil put it on course to follow California’s decline from a great place to a joke.

Ok people who think Cali is having problems...the economy is amazing and is growing at about 4%. Looks a little better than Kansas after all their tax break, eh?

I've found something to like in every state I've seen so far, 23 in total. I truly expected to hate NJ and CT, and found them to actually be tolerable, at least just passing through. One encounters a lot of people from CT who are insufferable, so I remain skeptical.

Love CA but agree on the policies, really anti-democratic and punitive on the citizens.

What policies are you even talking about? They are legalizing marijuana as we speak. Are you just a gun nut?

Love: CA, WA, MT, AK, NM, MD, ME, HI, RI
Like the big cities: IL, PA, NY, MA.
Have soft spot for: WI, MN, OH, MI
No thank you: IN, CT, AR, KY, KS.
Indiana is the worst. All the natural beauty of the rest of the midwest (so... not much) and all the politics of the Deep South with none of the culture.

The state is pretty mediocre. I love how people call MD 'America in miniature'. Yeah, lame mountains, lame urban areas, and lame beaches.

Everything cites the conservative Orange County register. Who cares?

CA is far from perfect. But I'd like to see other state governments manage such a huge, diverse population half as well as CA does.

The only state I didn't like has been Alaska. I have not been to New England (other than RI) or much of the mid-west. I've been to all the states in the South, mid-Atlantic and most in the West.

I've particularly enjoyed CA, LA, HI and FL (obviously I'm a beach/warm weather person). I love VA with the exception of the NOVA area.
