Growing After Period

It's astonishing to me that any of you remember how tall you were when you got your period. I have no idea when I reached my terminal height of 5'7" but I think I must have grown after she 11 when I got my period.

Based on what? I would like to see the trending of the recent data. Because children are starting puberty earlier. Does that mean people are getting shorter? Not likely. It also varies on ethnicity.

Kids are taller now before puberty, on average.

My daughter grew 7.5 inches in the two years after her period at age 12. She grew about an inch in the third year and loves that she is taller than I am.

Hormones in the milk and meat.

8 year olds with breast buds! Crazy.

There were some outliers in my day, but not like now. Starting at 13, which used to be the norm, is now on the older end. DD's ped was shocked she hadn't started when she was barely 13. "We'll want to keep an eye on that."
