Because some of us have jobs?

Oh right. School = childcare

I'd explain those pesky things called work schedules but I think your years of sitting in your PJs until 10 while watching Kathy Lee has made your brain...mush.

Don't get too cocky. The rest of us have figured out childcare for our kids. Not sure why it's so hard for you.

Please enlighten us about this great affordable two-day child care arrangement that is enrolling now that you've found?

Hey PP -

I don't know why you are getting so much snot. I would bet that all american sports camp will offer the two-day camp you need.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm an APS teacher and didn't even realize it had changed to Wednesday. Yippeeee!!!

I'm surprised that aftercare programs at the public school aren't covering those two days, the way they cover snow days and professional days during the school year. I'm not in APS, but that's how it worked at my son's school.

You're assuming that APS listens to public comment. OP may not have participated, but a lot of us did, possibly because of the last days of school, possibly because the teacher workdays did not align with what PD would be most effective, and as usual, APS did whatever stupid thing it was planning to do from the start.

Yes, camps look at the calendars, too, and plan accordingly. They can make money off of those two days.

APS aftercare programs do not cover snow days and professional days. The only extra time they cover is on early-release days.

It’s really bizarre that you are struggling with this so much.

This was OPs original post:

"It’s been Friday for the past 7 years I have had elementary school kids. Calendar shows 6/20 as last day.

And MS last day is Tuesday June 19th."

You people sure read a whole lot into that question. It sounds like OP was very surprised it wasn't on a Friday like it's always been. She as looking for confirmation. Our school does not send out the Calendar and you have to search APS' obscure website to find it.

But it was a great opportunity for those that do not feel good about themselves to come out and bash somebody anonymously and use the moment to make themselves feel superior.

It isn’t clear to me whether you are dumb or being deliberately obtuse. But people are reacting to OP’s exasperation in the thread title (use of the word “really” and the all-caps on “Wednesday.” It is a little astonishing to me that you need this explained to you. Are you slow?

Contact martial arts places. I send my children to one day taekwondo camps on teacher workdays, snow days or times in the summer when I don’t need a full week of camp. They enjoy going and have also attended the full week camps. They are less expensive than the specialty camps.

Kindergarten first and only mom here. Also NP. I leearned of this 1/2 week nonsense a few weeks ago. I'm crossing fingers we won't miss much school and plan to yank kid those last two days. Nothing will get done on those days. It sucks for kids and teachers to go 2 days into the week. Just Olin silly to think otherwise. Frankly, my kid will learn more at tech camp than school.

NP and also mom of first time current kinder. So, historically speaking, did APS ended on a scheduled last day in June the previous years? We did not have much snow last year so I kind of guessed that this past June, the school ended on time as scheduled? What about the year when we had tons of snow?

It's funny that you think they did anything that last week when it was a full week.

My oldest is in 7th and they have never extended the school year for snow since he’s been there.
