Old anger rekindled by sex harassment reports.

At least these men are facing consequences now. The worst for me was after last ear’s election. I have family members who knew what I had gone through and also voted for Tru mp. That was extremely traumatic. I felt like they condoned that behavior.

You voted for Hilla ry?

My same exact thought.

She supports a woman who literally destroyed many of the women her husband sexually abused.

Hilla r y is a Pariah. Not a hero.

Even if that were true, does that make her worse than a man who assaulted women? Really?

Yes. Yes it does. It's a total betrayal. Men can be wrongly overwhelmed by sex drive but She is a calculated sociopath.

As a senior who was laid off in my early 50s and can never really get back to where I was professionally or financially, I carry a lot of anger and sadness similar to what you must as well. You may say it is not the same, but it is. Who will deal with my issues? These is not going to be a senior uprising to take care of everyone who was fired after 40..

You are a white male and will never be considered to be a "protected class". Get a sex change and you might stand a chance.

I don't want to be a "protected" class just like most women don't want to be a protected class. All they are asking for is equality much like I am. Me personally, I'm reasonably well-off and will not go hungry. There are several other old people, most from the so called protected classes - minorities, women, etc - that can't get a job after a certain age and have no savings. Who's doing anything for them?

I am a woman in the same position because of sexual harassment. I will never recover financially and will never get back on career track. Recent revelations make me happy in one sense that women are speaking out and being heard, but firing perpetrators is not the same as giving opportunities to the women whose lives got off track due to harassment.

When NBC gives the morning anchor chair back to Anne Curry and publicly supports her to be successful, then I will feel better. When all people - men and women - can jump on and off career paths regardless of age, then I will feel happy that sexual predators will bo longer be able to use their positions of power and success to make or break others.

OP please slow that not all women are apologist assholes with rose-colored glasses. Even those of us to whom this hasn’t happened to believe you. Please know that.

What kills me is that the droves of women are being second guessed in this. Never the men. That is the real social problem.

Asking these questions probably may help. If you feel comfortable publicly posting it on your Facebook or whatever you might find people who knew you and worked with you from that time suddenly are able to reframe differently and may have more insight into why they let it happen as well. This is what needs to happen in society at this point. We need to jump on the sexual assault bandwagon like we jumped on the bullying bandwagon. Why do we care about that and not this? Those people will know/believe and hopefully use this opportunity to question in themselves why they let it happen as not so innocent bystanders.

U r angry because shit hasn’t changed. It’s hard to heal until things change. That includes your husband. If he hasn’t gone to therapy with you he needs to.

If you do go public and anyone does not believe you or wants to fight about why it’s your fault please for the love of god address their behavior publicly and cut them out of your life.

Matt Lauer got fired for something he did to an anonymous someone who doesn't appear on tv. Anne Curry got canned for being a bad fit as a tv performer. Her job loss has nothing known to do with sexual harassment. Give up the juvenile Team Anne vs. Team Matt nonsense.

You do realize that women also turn 50, right? And very well could face similar circumstances toward the end of their own careers? I don't see those women regularly trying to usurp this issue with their own bones to pick. If you are really as sympathetic as you claim to be in your first paragraph, you would understand that your second paragraph where you implicitly try to say that sexual harassment is getting undue attention (attention that you sorely believe should really be going to older men like yourself) is unhelpful.

Women are often laid off or fired as they get older so the male bosses can hire fresh young things who flirt and appeal to their egos. It's part of the whole scene of sexual harassment.

Also, they're cheaper and healthier.

While I've never experienced much harassment directly, I'm infuriated and incredibly sad for all the women that have been victim on this.

If any positive can come out of this for me, its that maybe I can stop blaming myself or thinking something is wrong with me when men I'm dating do shitty things to me. Now I realize its not that I'm not enough, its that men generally are selfish and have really no regard for the feelings of women. They prefer to just do as they please and what makes them feel good at the time, regardless of what it means for their families, these women, their friends. They just don't care.

I know there are exceptions and truly good men out there, but they are clearly the minority. At least we now have concrete evidence that we women are not the ones to blame.

Fired for being a bad fit .... wait for it ... with a guy who was sexually harassing his peers and junior staff .... which is the person who actually couldn't fit in?

Please direct your anger towards Bill Clinton. Why do liberals give that rapist a pass while talking every chance to throw shots at Trump or other men? How about the dumb hollywood elitists not give a standing ovation ( cough Meryl Streep cough) Roman Polanski, a child rapist, but condemn Trump for his
“ sexual harrasment”, which have been unfounded.

And I’m not a Trump or Hilary fan.

What about Bill Clinton? Don’t excuse his behavior because he is a liberal.

Trump never sexually anyone. You liberals are all too dumb to realize that. If they weee assaulted as they say, why not go after him in the 80’s and 90’s when it happened? He was rich and has his own tv show. It’s a little suspicious the stories come out only after Trump brought up Bill Clinton’s sexual assaults. Then after he became president, they all dropped their lawsuits and went away. Hilary made it up just like she screwed her husbands victims, and cheated Bernie Sanders out of the election.

When Bill Clinton got away with it the door was thrown wide open to this kind of behavior.
