I think by saying "not excusable" you're taking away agency from young women who clearly consented to these relationships and went into them more than willingly. If you asked Bacall what she would say about Bogie she would have said he was the love of her life, and she did say it, many times. Men are simple creatures. I think a lot of younger women have the upper hand in the relationship when they marry older men. And if it doesn't work out, at least she has money afterwards.

A few things.

The Seinfeld thing is gross but it is legal. Not the same as what Roy Moore did, which come on, OP, you know this.

Separately Seinfeld met his wife while she was on her honeymoon with someone else. He’s not coming out of either of these situations looking great. All of this is however still legal.
