Remember when 38-year-old Jerry Seinfeld dated a 17-year-old high schooler?

I can't believe nobody here can even remember Shoshanna Lonstein's name!

If she is legally underage, then yes.

17 is over the age is consent, and apparently she turned 18 before the actually started dating. They dated for 5 years. It's not something I would do, but it does not appear to be abusive.

It's still creepy and not okay.

What particularly creeps you out? .

I do - went to GW with her! Seinfeld is creepy and took a looooong time to mature.

Just because somebody consents does not mean it is moral or not creepy.

Woody Allen married his daughter. It was consensual, it's creepy.

Gross and creepy. Unfortunately illegal.

Why do men want to damage young girls?

My grandmothers were both married to grown men and became mothers the first time at 14. One was taken from the schoolhouse to the courthouse. An abrupt end to childhood, followed by a flurry of children, and both were single parenting in less than ten years.

Absolutely horrifying. ANd sick to think about how common it is. Why do men do this?

Yes, it was creepy then, if legal.

Is the point of this thread to make Roy Moore seem less creepy? Because whether legal or not, I think what Seinfeld did was creepy...and I would never vote for him for anything.

Roy Moore is totally creepy. His victim could not consent.

Let’s be clear: Jerry Seinfeld did not do anything illegal. Creepy? Sure. And let’s also remember that he’s not running for a powerful government office, one of the highest in this country.

Roy Moore did do something illegal: he sexually assaulted a 14 year old. Illegal. Despicable. And he dated 17 & 18 year olds. More creepy. AND he IS running for and likely to win a seat in the United States Senate.

I don’t have to like everything Jerry Seinfeld has done, but nothing was illegal. And he is not running for office as a United States Senate. If you don’t like him, don’t go to his show or buy his books or whatever he is selling.

It doesnt matter if it's illegal, it can still be morally wrong and condemnable. Lots of horrible people manage to skirt around laws to do their dirty deeds.

There is documented proof 38yo Jerry approached this 17yo girl in a park and then dated her for years.

No proof the 32yo judge dated a 14yo girl. But if both are true, both are equally sickening and deplorable.

Okay. What Jerry Seinfeld did was morally wrong. Agree. Thankfully no one is rewarding him with a seat in the US Senate.
