That would be nice but we knew we would be missing classes in order to do sports.
We didn't know that even if we don't have a game on the first day of school that we would be extending the first week of school getting to know the teachers by a day because coaches of other sports will be having substitutes. Hogan did not tell them they could not move the meet to a different day (as much as I am opposed to him moving the start of school). As someone mentioned, if there is a tornado that day, the meet will be moved. It could be moved now if it was a priority. |
However, it isn't a priority for MCPS, because there are a gazillion other things going on that also need to be scheduled. |
Well, if that's what you want to put your effort into, then you should go ahead and do that, I guess. But there are more immediate ways for you to put education first, which are under your own control, and have far more certain results. |

Skipping the meet and attending class might put education first on Sept 5th. I would rather put education first by emailing the AD today, by talking to the AD tomorrow and by making sure our AD knows we will be watching in the future.
