No, OP did not ask for our opinions. But the PP who stated, "I honestly believe that the 'Big 3' was something created right here on DCUM. . . " was right on target.

Does this so called Big 3 concept really exist?

Google searches mention Harvard, Yale, and Princeton - not GDS, Sidwell, and the Cathedral schools.

Is Google the authority now?

Is DCUM the authority now?? Apparently, some people think so..

Let's see. The OP asked what the Big Three referred to. She said she has run across the term Big Three on DCUM. Not Google. She wants to know what Big Three refers to in the context of this forum. I think it is thus legitimate to assume DCUM is the authority in this case.

Not when it's only the opinion of a few. THUS, making it a more intelligent decision for her to research her own. Maybe the question should have been, "What does a small group of women with nothing else to do but create labels for themselves to increase self worth, think the Big 3 are?"

Yes, that would be good thread. It was not, however, the OP's question.

Why are there so many losers here? What OWN Big 3? A prestigious school is a prestigious school. An easy school is just an easy school. Why are you fooling yourself? If you close your own eyes and don't see Big 3, are you expecting that Big 3 don't exist? If yours kids go to South Dakota State, I am sure you will that their OWN Harvard. Losers!

Oooh my. A little anxious at the thought of your child being at North Dakota State instead of Harvard. Even if your last venomous sentence doesn't make sense, your intense fear of being identified as a loser comes through quite clearly. Good luck to you and your kids. It's tough life to live when you are this insecure and worried about your status.
You did prompt me to reflect on my life, and I realized I know more people who went to Harvard than North Dakota State, so if I were to adopt the small-minded outlook that pops up on this board now and then, I could conclude (accurately or inaccurately, I'll let you decide
it must be rather an elite school, as so few people we encounter in daily Washington life have gone to North Dakota State. I am ashamed of my limited world because I do not know people who have gone there, maybe one day soon I will. Så Jeg håper det.

Ummm...there are more than 3 prestigious schools in DC. You sound more like the pathetic loser who needs a label to add to your own self worth.

NDSU would be ok, the poster was referring to SDSU.

Trolls have very low self-worth. The NY Times magazine did a long piece on this within the last year or so.
