I think the pullout method along with timing ovulation should be pretty effective. I would not use the pullout method while ovulating, what happened to OPs friend could happen to anybody!

Most women will never admit they had this happen, because you do feel stupid and foolish. But I can tell you from experience and from multiple men and women confiding in me, there are a surprising number of men out there who will attempt to get a woman pregnant to hold onto her. They also like the idea of getting a woman pregnant, and will do the, "Oh just let me put it in for a second, it feels so good blah blah blah," thing. And then kaboom.

She sounds kind of dumb. If she didn't want to get pregnant, she should have used some method of birth control that doesn't depend on a guy. the pull-out method is not failproof. And I say this as someone who got pregnant because the guy I was seeing didn't use a condom properly.
