Tell me about living in the Palisades

Why put yourself directly under the flight path when you can live in a quieter neighborhood where this is not an issue?

Because there's never just one thing to base your decision on? And different people value different things: that's why someone has a FT job as the airplane noise troll, it's her calling, but no one else's.

I like the vibe in Palisades better myself. I lived in CCDC for years and while I liked the varied home styles and the people, it was a bit homogeneous. It also seems to get less friendly over time (I lived there in the early '00s). I've found more diversity in lifestyles and (to some degree) ethnicity in Palisades. More of a neighborhood feel, more open to new people. Just my experience.

I live in CCDC and think Pailsades is equally lovely.

We get low flying helicopters in CCDC, just for the record. (And doesn't bother me either.)

The constant harping about plane noise in palisades is just so odd, but sort of endearing in its persistence.

Not every three minutes, which happens with the planes in the river hoods.
