NP... "cheap" is relative. For Potomac, $650K is cheap. And I don't live there. I live in Rockville but looked at houses there. |
Um what? 650k is cheap for Potomac. That is the area the thread is about. |
Sounds like someone is jealous of people who can afford to pay $650,000 for a house. Unless you live in the neighborhoods that feed into BFES, you really should keep you opinions to yourself. |
| Agree - the BFES families don't need outsiders commenting on the value of our homes. |
|
This thread is bizarre. Who cares how big the houses are?
We go to BFES. There are a lot of very engaged, friendly, welcoming parents. There are also a lot who are cliquey and probably think the size of a person's house matters for something. Most parents are very busy, which may come across to someone new as being aloof, but once you are in activities with them, they'll be open. |
For the record I am the pp who was talking about how this poster was describing the neighborhoods that feed into cold spring having only car ports. I was merely making the point that I have never seen any houses with car ports in my cold spring neighborhood and there are only 2 neighborhoods that feed into it. Beverly Farms feeder neighborhoods are cheaper and do in fact have lots of car ports. It's just not true so that was the point I was making. Nobody would confuse the neighborhoods that feed into Beverly farms with those that feed into cold spring. Beverly farms neighborhood houses are much less expensive and smaller. |
| You Cold Spring people truly are snobs and deserve the bad reputation you have around here. Yuck. |
They look much the same to me, when I drive by on Postoak Road and Falls Chapel Way. But I'll take your word for it. |
|
I'm not sure I understand the argument. Regardless of whether homes are "cheap" or not, the parents can still be friendly or cliquey. It just depends on the group.
Personally, I have found both types at Beverly Farms. I personally enjoy the down to earth ones and roll my eyes at the crazy ones. It is true that both groups are represented, but where is that not true? If you are asking if you can find a group of like minded people to yourself at BFES, the answer is yes regardless of what type of group you are looking for. I definitely like the area and the school. |
+1 It is such a tacky way to dress. |
| BFES mom here - I wear yoga pants and Lululemon tanks every day and I look amazing. hater! |
| Are you for real, PP? |
I used to live in Potomac and this thread makes me so glad I now live in "flyover" land or however it's referred to on here. I lived in a 2,000 sq ft 4 bd 2.5 bath home in a neighborhood that fed into an elementary other than Cold Spring or Beverly Farms. But I'm not sure why the Cold Springs poster thinks her area is so special. There are many of these 1970's neighborhoods in Potomac that feed into all of the different elementary schools and the CS neighborhoods aren't any more special than the ones feeding into Bells Mill, Wayside etc. But that mindset of what I have must be better than yours is so damaging and our family is much happier. I'm sure the OP will find nice people in Beverly Farms - they do exist in Potomac. |
lol... there is a bfes troll. C'mon, you gotta take these things with a grain of salt. |
