I agree! We live here and I wish we chose to live in Rockville instead.

Oh please. Rockville is Little Havana

As in, Cuba? Lots of immigrants from Cuba in Rockville? The things I learn on DCUM.

Troll is the most over used word on dcum. Everyone you disagree with is a troll.

This last week is going to be rough at BFES, with all of the wealthy parents preening and bragging about their summer holiday plans.

dafaq? BFES is the lowest SES of the Churchill cluster. Solid UMC/STEM but not wealthy.

When we moved into Beverly Farms district a couple of years, ago, my daughter (then 3rd grade) made friends pretty easily, but I never really found parents friendly. My son joined BF in kindergarten and I found the parents in that cohort year to be very friendly. The difference may be in the cohort year, but I suspect it is more because my son joined a lot of activities which put us in better touch with parents. I'd suggest seeing if you can join the school's MSI soccer team (it's sometimes difficult to get spots, but you'd need to sign up by 6/15 for sure). As a pp mentioned, Regency Estates pool is the kids' hangout all summer-- LOTS of BF kids and parents. Also ask about girl scouts. PTA parents tend to be very friendly and welcoming, in my opinion.

I live in this district. Lots of different parent types. Some parents are very cliquey, but others are very down to earth.

NP here. Feels like people who don't drive a new Range Rover to pick up line are outcasts. My kid was ridiculed for not having a phone as a third grader!

Not from the posters who actually live there...

Beverly Farms is poor Potomac, very similar to Ritchie Park and Cold Spring. I think there are some trolls here.

Seriously! The active wear ALL.DAY.LONG! Hair and make-up are perfect so when are they working out? LOL! So stupid.

Out of the 5 elementary schools that feed into Churchill, Beverly Farms is considered the Poor Potomac side. Lots of houses with no garages or carports.

I am BFES parent, and we have a really nice 3 car garage. There are maybe 5 homes with carports. You must be confusing our feeder neighborhoods with Cold Spring, which is full or either carports, or no garages.

Are you sure that you are a BFES parent? Are you sure you aren't.....nothing?

Where do you get your facts? Cold Spring has 2 neighborhoods that feed into it: Copenhaver and Fox Hills West. 90% of Fox Hills West homes have 2-car garages. Something like 75% of homes in Copenhaver have a garage of some kind, though some do only have car ports. In fact, many of the BFES homes around Churchill High School have no garage--in many cases a car port or only a driveway.

I think this debate tells us all we need to know.
