Yep. I guess it is gross to me only when the animals claiming they are equal are elbowing to the front of the line |
I wonder why not Mann as well? |
4th grade twins. Mann and West (I think) have only one section of 4th grade. Generally, the advice is to split up twins starting at K. Lafayette, Murch, Janney have 2 or more sections of 4th. Key I don't know about.
My question is why not look at Shepherd? |
or oyster? too close to rhee's kids? |
Unless they have the spanish language skills already, they could not start Oyster at 4th grade. |
Why wouldn't they look at Eaton - or does Eaton not have two sections of 4th? |
Eaton's good, but not in the same tier as the aforementioned schools. It is MANY more OOB students. |
I sure hope Fenty's kids are going in bounds. Otherwise, it is just another example of an out of touch elected official who decides his rank gives him privileged. Congress is full of them, and Fenty's trips to the White House seem to be going to his head. |
Or so you assume. |
Are the many parents who go to great lengths to send their kids OOB also "out of touch"? Or are they clever? |
PP here. I don't have a problem with OOB. I have a problem with jumping to the line because you are mayor. I hope the Fentys played by the same rules everyone else has to. |
Maybe I am wrong but at the 4th grade level I just don't believe there is some long waiting list for Lafayette or some of the other schools mentioned. If it were pre-K or even K then you may have a point. |
In April after multiple promises to post the OOB lottery results (never happened), DCPS sent me the spreadsheet. For 4th grade, the following status as of late April:
Eaton 0 admits, 13 on wait list Janney 7 admits, 33 wait list Key 0 admits, 20 wait list Lafayette 0 admits, 15 wait list Mann 0 admits, 17 wait list Murch 0 admits, 19 wait list Looks to me like the Fenty boys hopped over 15 timely applicants ahead of them on the Lafayette wait list. If I were one of those 15, and I still wanted my child at Lafayette. . .. .. . |
I am poster 16:17 - thanks for posting this. I wondered if there was a list like this somewhere. Yes it does remain to be seen if they hopped over, if they are even attending Lafayette.
BUT there is one more question, is Lafayette (or some of the other schools) adding more 4th grade classes? |
Wow. You should post that full spreadsheet! |
