Let's try this again. NO ONE HAS THE STATS. FCAG has to FOIA them, and they have not released them yet. If you want to know when to expect them, go to the FCAG message board and ask.

Hadn't heard of FCAG before, just checked their Yahoo Group and it shows over 100 messages per month for almost a decade, then less than half that (45/month) last year... and on pace for even less this year. Is the group dying off? Or is it just that most topics have been discussed to death and/or not as many changes to program to discuss as in prior years?

Group is dying off as it was led by white or mixed-race parents with TJ aspirations for their kids and Asians now thoroughly dominate TJ. There are probably other message boards in Korean and Hindi that generate more traffic now.

20 kids got in from Luther this year. Don't have the numbers on how many took the test/first cut..

That's a huge increase as there were only 11 admitted last year

Is this even true? Because Indians speak many different languages and I don't think there would be enough to just speak in Hindi. They would communicate in English.

True. I'm Indian and never learned Hindi growing up. What is "Group" anyways?

I would like to know what percentage of the kids who feel the need to race ahead in math (ie take Algebra 2 or higher in 8th grade) end up getting rejected or wait listed at TJ.

Read through the TJ threads on this forum (past month or so). There was a link to a report that provided this information.

Your comment itself indicates how ignorant and racist you are! Most of the Korean and Indian parents are college graduates with advance degrees and able to communicate in English very well........why don't you also learn Korean and Hindi to troll those so called message boards in these languages

FCAG has info re how many of those entering completed Algebra 2 but not how many with Algebra 2 (or higher) were not accepted or waitlisted.

I think there was a switch in FCAG leadership and the group stalled for a bit. There is new FCAG leadership in place now, though.
