When are they coming? You can buy yourself one of those Rose's Luxury gift certificates and make a reservation for January - February. Or book the main dining room.

If not, Le Diplomate or Aqua al Due.

Right? I moved out of DC seven years ago and these places were hit a decade before that! (I love Jaleo but come on!)

And after dinner ... Sheer Madness at the Kennedy Center!!!

That gave me a good laugh...I'm still laughing... Sheer Madness. Good one PP.

no way in hell you can get a party of 6 in there

Yes there's a crazy delusional little serow fan running around on these boards. Its a great place no doubt but is not for everyone and not some place to go just passing through

Central. Great food and something for everyone on the menu.

If they're unadventurous I'd take them to the Hamilton or Old Ebbitt. My dad loves both of those places because he's a meat and potatoes guy. Trendier but still safe options would probably be Pearl Dive, Chez Billy Sud, Jaleo, Mintwood Place. Hank's, Boundary Road, or Etto are nice if you're looking for a more casual vibe.
I've found out of towners always love Hill Country, Le Diplomate, or Philomena.
