What do non-drinking students do for fun at Kenyion? They hang out with the drinking students! Given Kenyon's size (1600 or so students) and remote location, unless one wants to be a hermit, interacting with everyone else despite differences is unavoidable. That's one thing that makes Kenyon's community so tight-knit...and wonderful. |
| Preppier than Oberlin. Crunchier than Denison. Perfect mix! |
| Apart from English, what are the other popular majors? |

"Cancel culture" is very alive at Kenyon for that who misbehave:

Yes because in international students are typically full pay and keep a place like Kenyon solvent. Their tuition dollars mean our American kids have a place like Kenyon to get drunk for four years. |
And yet these are all published examples of people from the school who are opposed to what they perceive as "cancel culture" which suggests that there is a diversity of opinions encouraged. Don't quite see how you are bothered by it then. |
| As long as a campus has someone promoting intellectual freedom and opposing cancel culture, then there is sufficient political diversity on campus? Well, OK then. We are so f-ed. |

PP here: The point I was making was about "cancelling' due to student abuses/misdeeds/crimes performed "under the influence" of drugs or alcohol." It's a small school and word travels fast if someone is a mean drunk...
I was not inferring "cancellation" due to political or social viewpoints... |

Other PP here. My comment wasn't specific to Kenyon and I did not know the specifics of any cancelation at Kenyon.
My DD is a rising freshman at my alma mater, a different LAC. I thought the college maintains a commitment to academic freedom, however with the overemphasis on diversity in it's marketing materials causes me pause at times. Well, we shall see. |
| I don't think of Kenyon as a big school for finance. can you get a list of firms that recruit there? Williams sounds like a better fit for your kid if he can get in. |
