I'm the exact way and I am feeling that way right now. I haven't had a donut in a couple of years - thought I would try again tonight- huge mistake ! I have been sick for hours now

I have the same reaction to sweet breads (zucchini, banana, carrot, etc) purchased from a certain very popular vendor at our local Farmer's Market. The breads are absolutely delicious to eat but within an hour I feel so nauseous, woozy and ill that I must lie down or fall down. No one else in the family is affected this way. I am otherwise very healthy and fit but I do have other food allergies (that affect me differently) so I think I just have some sort of low-grade reaction to an ingredient. And I have not had a problem eating the same types of sweet breads from other purveyors or that I make at home.

Quick breads are often baked with a cup of oil per loaf. They can be super oily.

I can eat cake style donuts, but yeast ones make me ill. I have no idea why.

I am the same with donuts and always have been. I love sweets and can eat any other baked desserts, but donuts make my stomach ill for the rest of the day. I do think it’s something about being fried in oil.

Not sure if anyone else has suggested this yet, but could it be because they’re fried. My stomach is very sensitive to all fried foods.

Are you hypoglycemic?

You're basically eating pure carbs on a completely empty stomach.

Normally when people eat cake or whatever, it's after a meal.

Plus, ice cream wouldn't do this to you because ice cream has a ton of fat.

Also, in reply to a random previous comment, lesbians can get pregnant.

Where are you buying them from?

No, nobody has mentioned fried foods, fat or oil. Never occurred to anyone.

Not more than cake with frosting.

Is it all types of donuts. There are many types. Maybe you just don't process sugar well.
I get a stomach ache from eating too much sugar.
I would love a donut.

Cake and donuts do this to me. It turns out how I am extremely gluten sensitive. I think it's the combination of the simple carbs and sugar as I don't feel that if I tear off a piece of my kid's croissant or a piece of pizza crust. (Once in a while I will cheat and do this).

Donuts are the only baked good that does this to me.

Does anyone know why this would be the case?

That's weired. Donuts make me happy. Never fails.

There are 4 donut/pastry shops near me and they all make me feel sick.

I can only eat doughnuts from stores like yokes or Albertsons, but every time I get them from a bakery, I get sick. Is this because of the oil?

sugar on an empty stomach.

Could be this. I ended up having gallbladder issues with similar symptoms before I started experiencing attacks.
