And that is the reason you tell your wife, but you are a closet case. There is no straight man, ever, who lost his attraction to women in general or their wives specifically because they witnessed childbirth. Most men witness it now, cut the cord, there the whole time.

This is your issue.

- a DH who witnessed, up close and personal, all my kid's births and still has a high drive for my wife and all other women.

I don't think it makes a man a terrible person if he isn't as attracted to older, overweight woman, though I DO think the way he chooses to handle changes in his marriage says a lot about his character.

I strongly believe that a person cannot choose the things she/he find attractive or off-putting. The guy who lost desire for his wife after seeing her give birth was being honest. I have to say, there are probably reasons why, for most of history, men were not permitted to watch births.

Bring on the midwives.

The above is way over the top. There are a lot of men who feel queasy and who lose attraction to their wife, often temporarily after witnessing childbirth.

I was married to a woman who put on 60 lbs. i know that its politcally incorrect to say but I was less attracted to her. I stay very fit and asked to join me in activities, eat healthier, etc. All of that only eroded her self confidence. Well, guess what? Other guys did find her attractive and she started screwing them. After multiple affairs we got divorced and I think it was the best thing for both of us.

I've been remarried now for 13 years to a wonderful woman. We've both aged but we stay very fit. I see the way my Dad who is 74 actively plays and participates with our son and his other grandkids and thats what I want for myself. I want to have the best chance of not being a sidelined grandparent. Also, to me, mutual attraction and a good sex life are important to a relationship. For us they're just two more things that provide connection.

Muhaha. That's why we make them watch, to put them off for a couple of months so we can heal and catch a break.

And those men are queer. I asked the obstetrician and my wife if I could catch my first-born during a relatively smooth delivery and they both agreed to let me. I also cut the cord too as I held him in my arms, blood, mucus, sac, and all. But I also took part in delivering dozens of calves that had a little trouble on the way out, as well as castrating hundreds of yearling bulls, back in my younger days on the farm so I had a lot of practice to begin with. Assisting in the birth of my child is by far my best memory and put the seal on the love that I have for my wife and family. And twenty years later (along with a few extra pounds and two more kids), there has not been a single day that has gone by where I have not tried to seduce my wife.

Many men think they're a real man, but some are just fooling themselves.

Ohhhh an internet "tough guy"... let me guess, you are a rancher with a burly beard and carhart vest?

You don't have to be gay to not enjoy witnessing childbirth. Maybe some of these PP's are projecting their own closeted feelings. You sound incredibly ignorant when you say "someone is a queer if they get queasy during childbirth". What are you, 5? Sorry but being ok with blood/mucus/slime etc doesn't make you straight no matter how much you tell yourself otherwise.

I didn't say "a queer", but you did just make up a quote. I said "queer". And yes, I do wear Carhart, grow a full beard in the winter, and I come to DCUM for the many daily laughs. The overwhelming majority here, both men and women, are soft and there's nothing wrong with that.

No. Still have sex about every four or five days. I do watch a lot more porn though.
