Anyone follow local designer Lauren Liess?

Her design aesthetic is very basic. Ppl are easily impressed.

Because she got them for free. Same with the floor paint. Blah. On her blog she comes across as sweet, but I just can't get my head around her style. Her proportions always seem a bit off to me, particularly in the projects she does where they are not head to toe her earthy look.

House didn't sell after first open house so another one is scheduled. I believe the Oakton house sold the day it was put on the market last year.

So ... She bought a cape cod and renovated all of the traditional details and moldings out of it, left the pop corn ceiling, chose white floors, and installed 200 flush mount lighting fixtures.

I don't get it.

I really like how she decorated the house. I love all the light fixtures, I think they look cool.
I'm not sure the house would look good with just regular people's stuff though.

i don't think they're moving out of the area. She just opened up a shop in Great Falls. I've seen her a lot out and about in GF. But what do i know -- I don't know her.

Thoughts on the house? It's been on the market 5 days and I'm wondering how long it will take to sell given some of the more interesting design choices she's incorporated (white floors, a vegetable garden for a front yard, etc). I love the house and the changes she made but am thinking it will take a very specific buyer (one who shares this aesthetic and has $1.4 mil to spend on a house) so I'm curious how long it will be on the market. Also looking forward to seeing what she bought and how she'll approach that house... I love that she blogs her design choices in real time and explains why she makes the choices she does.

I don't get the love. Some nice areas but overall nothing to rave about.
