So what is your rising 1st grader watching on TV/iPad these days?

Just curious--you have a strange way of thinking. It's common among people who don't spend a lot of time around other people.

+1

Looney Tunes and classic Tom and Jerry are both HUGE hits with our 5 & 8 year old DCs. Their parents, too.

Was thinking of starting my rising first grader on Fraggle Rock - anyone else done the same? Loved this show when I was a kid but can't remember what age it's best for.

My son really likes the Garfeld cartoons available through Netflix. He watches one 30 minute cartoon a day at most, so I don't really feel like it needs to be educational. Non-offensive is my standard.

Yup! My kids love the silly violence. Cartoons now are so boring and watered down for the sake of being PC.

My 1st and 2nd graders love Kids Baking Championshp, Masterchef Jr, and other cooking shows.

They also watch some preschool stuff with their brother and they love Girl Meets World. I am thinking of introducing Full House soon and some of the dance competition shows (SYTYCD has a kids one).
