| I don't think the show is inappropriate, but if you do, I don't see how there is even a question. Don't let your kid watch it then. |
| We don't watch anything like that, just PBS kid shows. |
Thanks for behaving like a 5th grader! Bottom is better than "buns", glutes is the right word, sounds pretty easy to incorporate. |
OP here, I am with you. That's what we do too. |
No wonder we have Trump. We start ruining people's brain at such young age...

Starts earlier and earlier!!! |
| my 6-YO DS saw Big Hero 6 and was very upset that the brother died. He is now cautious about movies in general because he really hates if a good guy dies. So we mostly stick to TV programs. He likes Wild Kratts, American Ninja Warrior and Paw Patrol plus all sports. |

My 2 cents.
1. Be skeptical of "I'm the only one who..." statements. Even 4 kids in a class of 25 can feel like "everyone" to a kindergartener. Don't let her fool you into thinking that all the other parents are allowing those shows, because they most likely are not. 2. You're probably right about the older sibs. 3. The days of your child needing to keep up with pop culture in order to fit in with friends will come. Enjoy these years when kids can play together without any of that. Age appropriate all the way. |
| I'm digressing, but my 4 year old is a big fan of saying "sun's out, buns out!" |

Rising 1st grader watches very little tv, but when she does is a big fan of Wild Kratts, Dinosaur Train, Peg + Cat, and Word World which I think are all PBS. She occasionally watches some HGTV shows with us, and definitely sports (can't wait for the summer Olympics!).
She is very sensitive so we are very conservative regarding our movie choices. She's seen many of the Disney princess movies, and our most recent movie nights have been Disney's original The Jungle Book and Inside Out. She's reading the first Harry Potter book right now with DH, but is not yet ready for the movies. |
| 'My first grader watches Tom and Jerry and Bugs Bunny (the old ones, not the new series). |
Sorry, I have to agree - buns=bottom. YOU prefer the term bottom, but buns is pretty much just another fairly non-offensive slang term for your buttocks. However, since it is your house and your family, then you get to set that tone. If what you heard in Teen Titans is offensive TO YOU, your daughter shouldn't watch it. |
| My rising 2nd grader watches Odd Squad, Phineas and Ferb, Wild Kratts, and Magic School Bus. |
| I don't see what the point of the original post is, except to brag that OP's child isn't allowed to watch certain shows that she deems unacceptable. Of course if you feel that the content of a show is not appropriate for your child, you don't let them watch it. If everyone else here said that they thought Teen Titans was a great show for 6 year olds, would you let your kid watch it, even though you don't agree? |
| I have girl, same age as yours. i can't really recommend what she watches. Her current favorite shows are Wynx Club and Goldie Bear (I think?). She also likes master chef Jr, as someone else said (which is good). And she's still watching Paw Patrol too. |
