MIL issue-do I end our trip early?

So dh has a shitty relationship with his mom, your marriage is on the rocks and he will go apeshit if you tell him that mil was a jerk to you. I'm missing something

It's complicated people. I feel stressed because things have been not great and on top of it (icing on the cake, if you will) his mom was not very nice to me. DH is always looking for a reason to fight with his mom, and while sometimes it is justified, I often try to keep the peace. Nothing good will come out of a big conflict with his parents, trust me. He needs them more than he thinks he does and he gets deeply hurt when things blow up.

Honestly, I think if we were to split, his parents would try to maintain a relationship with me because 1. I am an easier gateway to the kids and 2. I'm better to them. I am 100% clear that this is all about the grandkids.

My MIL who I almost believe means no harm, has been so mean to me at times, it has brought me to tears. At one point I despised her. Then, one day, I realized that she was dealing with a lot is stuff that I did not know about, after that, I figured if she needed to be mean to me to get through, so be it. Ever since then, I just find the humor in it.

In case anyone was wondering, not only did I stay, but one of the kids is sick and I'm going to be here at least one day longer!

Last day update. I forgot to mention that this is also the land of Fox News. My MIL told me that Bernie Sanders wrote porn and what kind of president would be make, that the Breitbart reporter lied about being assaulted at the Trump rally and that our president doesn't love his country. She know that all her kids are liberal leaning.

The topper, however, is that this morning I heard her telling my 7 year old that Hillary Clinton may go to jail! wtf, really. When they come to our house MIL usually enforces a no politics rule, but I guess at her house, coupled with election year politics, the rules have changed.
