Dumb question, since every time I click on the cam I just see Mom or Dad sitting: the chicks are underneath? So they continue sitting after they are born, I suppose to keep them warm?

Yes. The chicks don't have their downy feathers yet and can't stay warm on their own.

I would think also to hide them from predators.
